2024 Become Better Fitness Olympics
Overall Recap:
In my opinion, the 2024 Olympics were a success again. Team Danicole took the victory largely thanks to the amount of bonus points they received from their team doing a fantastic job of coordinating outfits and encouraging one another to fully participated in all events.
This year we added some fun activities such as the clothes matching bonus and the healthy recipe submissions.
The coaches also fully participated this year and clients were able to see how they stacked up against them.
The top ten had 3 new members, Brandon Hanson, Aaron Morgan, and AJ Greco.
Although we thought we had a good variety of events this year, we saw 2 of the most dominant performances we’ve ever had by Matt Michaels and Alex Sepcic.
We saw a lot of extra team comradery this year, with a lot of that stemming from the clothing matching bonus. Both George and Shawna were winners of the Big Blue Award for their help with their team and for the effort they put in all summer.
Heidi Calhoun once again won the sleeper pick award for the women, finishing 28 picks better than she was drafted. Matt Gillespie competed in his first Olympics and won the sleeper award for the guys, finishing 24 picks better than he was drafted.
Jen Smith was the overall winner for the weight loss award. She lost 11 lbs (5.5% of her body weight).
Although no one beat Coach Dan in the overall standings (Matt was very close), the clients top 5 did beat the coaches, and because of that, the coaches will all be doing 100 burpees (after Morgan’s arm heals). We were unfortunately unable to cater food for the Olympics party, so we will do so at a later date, or find a different form of payment.
As always, we are also looking to Become Better. We take a ton of time making these events to try and make people who have different strengths able to compete. It’s impossible for us to make them perfect, but if you have ideas on how we can improve this whole competition we would love to hear it. We already have some plans for next year. Please click here to see what we have planned so far AND to submit ideas on how we can Become Better.
